CoveritLive Weekly: Top five Social TV events (Oct. 28 – Nov. 3, 2013)

After a week that featured a variety of new events from around the world, this week’s edition of the CoveritLive Social TV rankings comes with a heavy Swedish flare. European football in Sweden notched three spots in the top five, while the NFL maintained a spot in the ratings and F1 racing earned a place for the second straight week.

Swedish publisher captured the top spot for the week with its live coverage of the nation’s largest football club, Malmo FF played its way to the Swedish League crown. Its live blog of football weather delays topped the charts with more than 318,000 viewers, while its live game action of MFF’s match vs. Effsborg entertained almost 114,000 fans and ranked third. Sydsvenskan’s also earned the fourth spot for the week with its fully interactive post-match event that allowed more than 100,000 viewers to congratulate the team.

The NFL’s Thursday Night Football second screen dashboard that uses CoveritLive to provide its social stream earned a spot in the top three for the eighth straight week. In excess of 226,000 viewers engaged with the social TV experience as the Miami Dolphins narrowly edged the Cincinnati Bengals, 22-20 in overtime.

Finnish publisher, Ilta-Sanomat nabbed the fifth and final spot for the second consecutive week with its live Formula One coverage. This week’s live event for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix entertained almost 35,000 fans as Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel raced to victory.
