CoveritLive Weekly: Top five social TV events (June 25-July 1)

The last week of June closed in much the same fashion as every other week of the month, as coverage of Euro 2012 clung tightly to the top spots in the weekly CoveritLive Social TV rankings. For the first time in three weeks, the Euros did not sweep the rankings as coverage of the 2012 NBA Draft notched the final two spots in the top five.
 
German publisher, Bild finished out its strong run through Euro 2012 this week, claiming its fourth-consecutive top ranking and landing at least the top three spots for the third-straight week. Bild’s live coverage of the tournament’s second semifinal between Germany and Italy attracted an audience of almost 700,000 viewers and ranked third among all of Bild’s Euro events in June. Coverage of the first semifinal match between Spain and Portugal drew the second-largest viewership with more than 500,000 viewers, while the Euro final that pitted Spain against Italy entertained an audience of almost 436,000.
 
 
For the first time since the NBA Western Conference Finals in early June, the NBA once again cracked the top five this week, with ESPN’s coverage of the 2012 NBA Draft claiming the fourth spot. More than 300,000 viewers joined the event to watch four University of Kentucky underclassman selected in the first round of the draft. The NBA notched the fifth-biggest event of the week as its draft event on NBA.com attracted more than 90,000 basketball fans.
