CoveritLive July Highlights

The month of July saw CoveritLive audiences engage with a wide variety of experiences and this edition of monthly highlights takes a look at some of the month’s most successful implementations. The highlights feature Bundesliga European football coverage, live news reporting from Chattanooga, Tenn., a reality TV second screen experience and MLB All-Star Game coverage.

The 2015-16 Bundesliga football season kicks off in August, but German publisher Bild.de is getting a head start on the season with its persistent stream of content on its Bundesliga Live home page. To-date the social stream has engaged in excess of 700,000 viewers as fans prepare for the upcoming season. Bild.de also shined in July with its Live home for 2. Bundesliga, which is the second division of professional football in Germany. The ongoing experience on the 2. home informed more than 150,000 participants last month.

Domestically the Chattanooga Times Free Press was a standout with its minute-by-minute reporting on the Chattanooga shootings on July 16. The local news outlet successfully covered the events as they unfolded and provided accounts of the aftermath to an audience of more than 600,000.

Bild.de kept their strong month rolling with its second screen experience for the popular German reality TV program, Summer Jungle Camp (Sommer-Dschungelcamp). The publisher utilized a customized embed of CiL to interact with almost 500,000 fans of the show that is based on the British reality show, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

The final monthly highlight was another domestic entry, this one coming from Gannett’s Cincinnati.com and its live coverage of Major League Baseball’s All-Star week in Cincinnati. The social stream aggregated staff writer’s posts on everything from Fan Fest, the Home Run Derby, threats of inclement weather, the game and Mike Trout being named the Most Valuable Player. The event was a big win for the city and for Cincinnati.com as well, with more than 160,000 baseball fans engaging with the CiL experience.
