CoveritLive Weekly: Top five Social TV events (March 18-24)

The 2013 Major League Baseball season opener is still one week away, but that did not stop the sport from claiming the top spot in the weekly CoveritLive Social TV rankings for the fourth consecutive week. The final games of the 2013 World Baseball Classic helped keep Yahoo Taiwan in the top-five, while Ilta-Sanomat, Yahoo Mexico and Yahoo Brazil claimed the remaining spots in the weekly rankings.

CoveritLive Weekly: Top five Social TV events (March 11-17)

As baseball season’s opening day and the stretch run of the college basketball season are upon us it was unrelated quartet of live events filling out the CoveritLive Social TV weekly ratings. For the second-straight week, Yahoo Taiwan nabbed two spots in the top-five with its World Baseball Classic coverage, while MyFoxDetroit landed near the top with its courtroom coverage and Yahoo Canada and Eurosport rounded out the top events for the week.

Yahoo News’ #Hashout Live features and discusses CoveritLive at SXSW

During this year’s South by Southwest Interactive Conference our partner’s at Yahoo! hosted a full slate of panels, talks, concerts and informative sessions at the Yahoo Lounge. The most-read news site in the world featured a panel during SXSW, titled Yahoo News #Hashout Live that explored the current trends around first and second screen experiences.

CiL Feature Implementation: Yahoo’s Papal Announcement Coverage

On Wednesday, Yahoo proved once again to be the go-to choice for live news coverage as it provided wall-to-wall live video and live chat coverage of the papal announcement. The news leader utilized CoveritLive to provide live commentary of the day’s events, beginning with the white smoke circling above the Sistine Chapel, through the bells ringing at St. Peter’s Basilica and Pope Francis’ first blessing as pope.

Twitter Changes – March 5th


CoveritLive uses Twitter's real-time streaming API in order to provide fast, reliable Twitter integration. As of March 5th 2013, Twitter requires authorization for all API requests and as a result, CoveritLive users must now be logged into a Twitter account before using any Twitter-related features. Linking your Twitter account with CoveritLive also logs you onto Twitter, which allows you to use Twitter functionality seamlessly within your live events.
